Shri Rajesh Desai is Master of Business Administration (MBA) in International Business, from UEL, London and MBA in Finance from India. He has Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from NIT, Surat.
Shri Rajesh Desai had an illustrious career spanning over three decades.
Presently, he is based out at Sugarland, Houston, Texas, USA and serves as Chief Procurement Officer of Fluor Corporation, responsible for Fluor’s Supply Chain and Commercial Strategies organizations. He also oversees Information Technology operations, including digitalization and artificial intelligence. He is a member of Corporate Sales Board of Fluor Corporation.
Prior to his current role with Fluor Corporation, Shri Rajesh Desai served as Senior Vice President, Supply Chain and Commercial Strategies where he played a key role in transforming Fluor’s Supply Chain organization, introducing commercial strategies, centralized procurement and metals and commodity hedging.
He has deep knowledge, expertise and leadership industrial experience in supply chain management, procurement, international mergers & acquisition, Project Finance, hedging for both currencies & commodities, global business development & procurement strategy and Global Structured Project Financing. He occupied corporate positions that covers all the lines of businesses like Energy and Chemicals, Metals and Mining, Infrastructure, Advanced Manufacturing and Life Sciences and is part of Government Group that supports US Government globally on strategic projects.
Shri Rajesh Desai joined Fluor in 2006 and worked on the Saudi Kayan Project in the UK and Singapore before relocating to Houston. He has over 32 years of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) industry experience.
Prior to joining Fluor, Shri Rajesh Desai worked at Larsen & Toubro Limited, an Indian multinational EPC company, for 15 years. He joined the company as a trainee engineer and, during his time there, worked in procurement, project management, corporate strategies and sales and marketing. Hence, he has extensive leadership experience in global corporation as well as in large Indian corporate house.
He has been appointed as an Independent Director of the Company with effect from February 13, 2023. He is a member of Risk Management and Project Review Committee of the Company.
He is a Board member of Fluor’s $1.2 Bn. Joint venture with COOEC : CFHI, China and also a Board member of Fluor Daniel India Private Limited and Fluor Onshore India Private Limited. He is Fluor representative at World Economic Forum.
